Skip the theory test at Service SA and complete your boat licence in just one half-day course! Surf Life Saving SA offers an approved and recognised State Government SA Boat Licence Course, covering all essential boating knowledge and regulations. Taught by experienced presenters, you’ll learn everything from boat terminology and navigation to lifejacket laws and emergency procedures. Successfully complete the course and receive a statement of attendance to present at Service SA for your boat licence.

Outback First Aid Course

Date: 26 – 28 July 2024
Location: Adelaide Showgrounds
Cost: $65 per person or $120 per couple*

Prepare for the unique challenges of the outback with our Outback First Aid Information Session. This 1 ½ hour awareness course, provided by Surf Life Saving SA, will equip you with essential skills to manage injuries and illnesses common to outdoor activities. Topics covered include: learning how to call emergency services using satellite phones and CB radios, managing bites and stings (including snake bites), and treating burns from campfires and gas cookers. The course will also cover handling severe bleeding with tourniquets, managing collapse and fainting due to medical conditions, treating sprains, strains, and fractures, and dealing with environmental emergencies such as heatstroke and hypothermia. Additionally, hands-only CPR will be taught, providing critical life-saving techniques.
