Noel established Noel’s Caravans at Research Road, Pooraka in 1974 with a dream to bring South Australians the best possible caravanning experience.
As a traveler and caravanner himself and with his family, he knew exactly what he needed to enjoy his outback holidays. Noel wanted to focus on personalised designs built especially for the customer.
Thus Island Star, Noel’s very own brand name, was born in 1983. The new range of Island Star pop-tops and caravans promised to “S-T-R-E-T-C-H as far as your imagination” and the brand continues to be a much respected product on Australian roads, loved by many happy customers. Island Star continues to innovate and is committed to lead the industry forward. We are passionate about our product and dedicated to satisfying the needs of our customers.
Today, Noel’s Caravans is mostly run by Noel’s children and the children of his trusted friends that have worked in the business for decades – although you can still find Noel at the yard most days, except for when he’s caravanning. Famous former SANFL player and SANFL coach Neil “Knuckles” Kerley came on early to show his support for Noel’s products as brand ambassador. The position of brand ambassador has since been passed from Neil Kerley to football legend, Malcolm Blight. It is this culture of trust and quality that ensures the Noel’s Caravans and Island Star brands remain SA’s favourite.
