Jacksons Carry Me Camper

For many years, Jacksons Australia had been manufacturing components for the SA based leisure and lifestyle company, Candy Canvas, and their Carry Me Camper range of slide-on campers.

In 2014, Jacksons Australia directors, Wayne and Marg Jackson, became aware that the owners of Candy Canvas were keen to retire.

Wayne and Marg purchased the rights to the camper products of the business, and immediately set about transitioning to all aluminium construction, focused on continued product development and improvement to the camper design. The recent development and introduction of the ‘Hard Lid’ model has proven very popular.

They knew the company, their products and the positive reputation earned for manufacturing a rugged, practical range of slide on campers. The purchase was a perfect fit for the Jackson group ensuring continuity for their workforce.

Being avid campers themselves, with a love of the Australian Outback, Wayne and Marg were confident that they could continue, and grow, the strong relationships and trust that the market had in Candy Canvas.

‘We believe in giving our customers all the facts, so they can make well informed choices about our range of products.’ Director Wayne Jackson adds: ‘There is no question that a significant portion of the success of our fabrication business came from our respect for our customers – our openness with them, and their trust in us’.

This culture was to ensure the ongoing success of their new venture.
