The CCIASA has for the third consecutive year been honoured with a prestigious South Australian Tourism Award in the category of tourism marketing.

The award was presented to the CCIASA in recognition of its marketing excellence in a sector that covers a vast spectrum of member participants from manufacturers and retailers of motor homes, caravans, camper vans, camper trailers and camping equipment to suppliers of products and services. 

The industry also promotes the State’s unique holiday destinations supporting the contribution of tourism to the State and national economy.

The CCIASA won a gold medal in the 2006 South Australian Tourism Awards, a silver medal in 2007, and it again won top honours at a gala dinner presentation in late November 2008.

2008 Silver Awards were presented to Datatrax Tourism Touchscreens and Recharge on the Murray River.  The Bronze Award went to Tourism Barossa.

By winning the 2008 State Award, the CCIASA automatically entered the Australian Tourism Awards.

The Hon. Jane Lomax-Smith, the Minister for Tourism, said the South Australian Tourism Awards were designed to celebrate and honour excellence and innovation within the industry.

“Our awards help set the benchmark for best business practice among all tourism operators,” she said.

“Tourism means business, jobs and broad social and economic development for our State.  The awards shine the spotlight on creative tourism initiatives that benefit both the industry and our regional and city communities.”
